Bokor Hill Station and National Park

fungi
an option of a trek through the forest appealed to few of us while the others drove on (backpakers, I supsect with hangovers judging by their state of general awareness) , rare treking as tigers, land mines and poachers are suspected hazards!
view from the Black Palace first sign of settlement originally Royal.

Bokor Hill Station is a remote area near Kampot which was originally settled by French and eventually the Bogor Palace Hotel (1925) the road was a feat to build and now is a feat to travel in a pickup truck, rough, bouncy and narrow. The Hill station area was originally abandoned in 1940's and later in 1970's when it was left to Khmer Rouge forces. (An entrepeneur wants to develop it again - the view and cliamte is very favourable)
